Day 1

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation. Guided sightseeing tour of Sofia, including visits to the National History Museum and the National Archeological Museum. Optional dinner at a traditional restaurant with folklore music and dances. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 2

Breakfast. Departure for Plovdiv, which is European Capital of Culture 2019 and second biggest city in Bulgaria. Coffee break on the way. Arrival in Plovdiv. It was inhabited by the Thracians, Romans, Slavs, Bulgarians, Ottomans, whose traces have turned the town into a living museum. Visit to the local Archaeological Museum. Walking tour in the old town – a place of special interest. During this tour we will take a walk on the cobbled streets of the old center to discover the 19th century Baroque houses and churches. We will also see the Ancient Roman Theater, symbol of Plovdiv, and marvel at other remains from the largest Roman city in Bulgaria. Visit to the Ethnographic Museum. Free time in main shopping street, Kapana creative district and city garden. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 3

Breakfast. Drive to Perperikon. Sightseeing of the archaeological complex – discovered and documented in April 2001, this area has been inhabited for the last 5000 years and is among the best representatives of Thracian cultural development in Bulgaria. Departure for Kardzhali. Walking tour in the central part of the city. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Kardzhali.

Day 4

Breakfast. Drive to the Thracian complex of Tatul. Sightseeing of the rock tomb and sanctuary, connected with the cult of Orpheus. Departure for Stara Zagora. On the way – visit to the Museum of Thracian Art in the Eastern Rhodopes in the village Aleksandrovo, built by the original Aleksandrovo Thracian Tomb. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Stara Zagora.

Day 5

Breakfast. Sightseeing of Stara Zagora – Ancient Forum, Neolithic Settlements, Regional History Museum. In the afternoon – drive to the ancient town of Kabile, established 2000 years BC. Visit to the local museum and the archaeological complex. Return to Stara Zagora. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Stara Zagora.

Day 6

Breakfast. Drive to Kazanlak. Walking tour in the town’s historic center including visits to the local history museum and the ethnographic complex. Visit to Kazanlak Thracian Tomb, which dates back to 4th century BC and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Visits to some of the other Thracian tombs in the area of Kazanlak, located in the Valley of the Thracian Rulers. Accommodation. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Kazanlak.

Day 7

Breakfast. Drive to the spa town of Hisarya. Although famous for its mineral water springs, the town is a genuine pearl of antiquity. Hisar Fortress, an archaeological reserve, is an excellent example of early fortification art and perhaps the best monument of this kind in Bulgaria. Departure for Sofia. On the way – visit to Starosel and walk around the latest excavations of the Thracian tombs at Starosel. The village is known for its abundance of ancient Thracian sites, with finds dating back to the 5th-6th millennium BC. Accommodation and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 8

Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia airport and departure.
