"The Old City Celebrates" is a real flood of cultural events in many different spheres held in September. The last edition in 2012 went on for a whole week in different venues. On the streets of the Old City opens up a craftsmen workshop. Special cosmetic saloon is organized. Different performances and exhibitions take place in the galleries with the participation of young students from Plovdiv universities and colleges. The big band leads a retro procession to celebrate the peak of the week – many of the citizens take part in it dressed in costumes from the beginning of 20th century.
