The purpose built Slanchev Bryag - called Sonnenstrand by the Germans and Sunny Beach by the Brits - is Bulgaria's largest coastal resort, with an excellent 8 km-long stretch of sand, which has received the coveted international Blue Flag award, and is home to some of the liveliest nightlife to be found on the Black Sea Coast.
     The sheer range of entertainment on offer makes Sunny Beach an ideal destination, with many bars and restaurants offering rich menus and entertainment. Sunny Beach was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag International prize for proven ecological advantages. The resort has more than 200 hotels, campsites, over 130 catering establishments: restaurants, taverns with folklore shows, bars with floor shows, night clubs, a casino, discos and cafes that provide culinary pleasures and a good mood. A policlinic and several big shopping centres for food, clothes and souvenirs. 

     Area and Location
     Sunny Beach is situated 42 km north of Bourgas and 434 km east of Sofia. Practically, the resort is located on the whole territory between the land of the village Sveti Vlas to the north and Nessebar to the south on an area of natural sandy dunes among which 16 rare plant varieties grow. The construction of the resort began in 1958.

     Accommodation
     Nowadays, there are more than 200 hotels with more than 300 000 beds and several camping sites. There are two-, three- and four-star hotels, aparthotels with self-catering facilities and several luxurious five-star complexes. 

     Transport
     There is a local transport within the resort – a mini-train by which one can travel from one end of the 10 km beach to the other end.
     Regular bus services are provided from the resort to regional centres Bourgas (35 km away) and Varna (95 km). There is a regular bus transport to Nessebar as well. Connections worldwide are provided via Bourgas International Airport, harbour, railway station.

     Entertainment and Dining
     There are lots of excellent restaurants, refreshment stalls, shops. More than 150 restaurants, folkstyle and other establishments with floor shows, snack bars and cafeterias are at the visitors disposal.

     Once the sun goes down nighttime excitement goes up in the resort. There are plenty of attractive opportunities to spend the nights in Sunny Beach, such as night clubs and discos, variety show places, cocktail bars and others, many of which work all night long.

     Attractions
     The genuine Action Aquapark is located on an area of 24 000 sq. m in the western part of Sunny Beach. It is one of the most amusing, inspiring and emotional location on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. A world of adventures, games and extreme experience await every visitor here. The Action Aquapark offers water attractions for each taste and age. Thirteen water attractions, and several cocktail bars are offering fresh drinks, and there are restaurants located amidst the wide grass areas where visitors can try tempting culinary specialities.

     Children's Attractions
     Both man and nature are generous to children here: mild climate, clean air, warm, calm and shallow sea, shaded walks. Parents enjoy a carefree holiday for several reasons: there are children's menus almost everywhere, 24-hour kindergardens with a highly trained staff, plenty of time for the parents without having to worry about your toddlers.
     Children, on their turn, enjoy in: plenty of laughter and ice-cream on children's holidays, fun games and competitions with prizes, excitement galore with slides and children's pools, merry-go-rounds and carting, jumping on inflatable castles and zooming down the Rolba slide, dancing in kids' discos and drawing pictures on asphalt, mastering new sport skills under the guidance of experienced instructors, playing exciting electronic games and pony riding.

     Sports
     The resort has many swimming pools, tennis-courts, bowling, mini-golf playgrounds, yachts and sailboats, opportunities to develop and practice all the water sports using the services of coaches, facilities and equipment, horse riding with coaches.

     Surroundings
     The holiday complex Zora is situated here, as well as the village of Sveti Vlas and Eelenite Resort. The town of Nessebar almost merges with the resort. The town of Pomorie is located 8 km far from Sunny Beach.
