Some 80 other bird species migrate and seek refuge there every winter. Address: 7500 Silistra, Bulgaria Tel: (+359 86) 23 894 Exhibition: Srebarna Reserve is 18 km away from Silistra on the road to Ruse. It covers a territory of 8000 dka and has a shallow lake (about 1-5 m) with a thick layer of slime and a rich variety of animal and vegetation species. It is providing habitat to 160 species of wildfowl. Among the most interesting bird species are the Dalmatian pelican, great egret, night heron, purple heron, glossy ibis and white spoonbill. During the migration period this spot is like a "transition station" where birds from the whole region get together. The technical equipment used to watch the fowl at the reserve is not disturbing them. Working time: Daily – 09:00 am - 12:00 am and 02:00 pm - 04:00 pm |
