National Theatre "Ivan Vazov" is one of the most renowned cultural institutions in Bulgaria. Its rich repertory represents the best of both Bulgarian and world theatre. Some of the best Bulgarian actors perform here.

     The building with two main halls has been projected by the architectural company "Helmer & Felner" from Vienna. Surprisingly (especially for Bulgarians), they sold the project to seven European cities. Hence when the halls for the National Theatre were completed in 1907, several more – precise copies – were erected in several more places on the continent.
