Another proof for the development of festival culture in Bulgaria is the July Jazz festival at Perelik peak in the Rhodope mountains. The venue that hosts the concerts is renovated 150-year-old stone structure, famous as the “House of bears”. Adobe and straw fence protects the people from the strong winds. The music sounds amazingly here – high on the mountain peaks, amidst the lush Bulgarian nature. Participants in the previous fests include Ralph Petersen (Para Ralph), Acoustic Trio 3000, Vasil Spasov, Karandila Junior Orchestra, Miroslava Katsarova, etc. The best possibility to enjoy the concerts is using a tent in the camping grounds put up nearby – taxes are just 3 leva.
