     Area and Location 
     One of the largest tourist resort complexes along the northern Black Sea Coast, Golden Sands is famous for its healing, hot water mineral springs as well as for its beautiful two-mile (4 km) stretch of fine sandy beach, which is 100 meters wide at some places. It sits at the foot of the forested hills of Golden Sands National Park, which is one of the oldest in the country and features a variety of interesting flora and fauna.
     The resort is situated 18 km north-east of Varna, 488 km east of Sofia. It merges with the resort of St. St. Constantine and Helena. The constant temperature of 27 degrees C and microclimate of Golden Sands throughout the season make it a wonderful place for having rest and fun.

     The resort of Golden Sands disposes of abov 80 hotels and villas. The predominant hotel category is that of three- and four-star standard. Most of the hotels have swimming pools and fitness halls, balneo-centers and an exchange bureau. The Riviera Vacation Club situated in Golden Sands offers а unique combination of the cozy atmosphere with a seacoast throughout the year. There is a profusion of restaurants offering different kinds of specialties of national and international cuisine.      Transport
     The transport between Golden Sands and Varna is particularly well organized. The bus lines 9, 109, 219 connect the resort to the town and bus line 409 connects it to the airport.

The Aquapolis Park with its capacity for 3000 visitors, is one of the most beautiful aqua parks in Eastern Europe and is the first in Bulgaria built in unique Mauhritano-Mediterranean style. The Aquapolis is situated in the northwestern part of Golden Sands, close to the main road from Riviera Complex to Albena Resort. The aqua park is located in the forest with incredible view to the sea and the whole resort. It is built at 40 000 sq. m and it combines natural park with artificial elements – swimming pools, water slides, jacuzzi, fountains, waterfalls, old towers and ruins.

     The Festival "Strongest Man", Miss and Mister "Golden Sands" competition, competitions for all breeds of dogs, Satellite tennis tournament, old-fashioned auto rally, International Festival for Standard and Sport Dances, etc. The cultural and information centre in the complex offers a rich and versatile concert program, folk music performances and shows in the open. It organizes exhibitions of Bulgarian artists, courses in Bulgarian language, folk songs and dances, vanguard fashion shows. Those who enjoy being thrilled can try their luck in the casinos.

     Sport
     At the visitors’ disposal are 10 tennis courts, bowling hall, mini-golf playground, open-air fitness area, house-racing arena, cycling alleys, bow shooting grounds, indoor and outdoor pools.
