This colorful festival is taking place every year in the tiny village of Oreshak, in the National Fair for Applied Crafts and Arts, not far from Troyan. More than 100 years ago, this is the starting place of the fame of the Troyan Plum Brandy – "Troyanska Slivova Rakia". Every festival has its traditions and here those are connected to the popular national crafts. You can see how the rakia is boiled, take part or just peek at competitions for best appetizers for rakia and best home-made rakia, see the market for traditional plum products, taste the culinary temptations of Troyan Region, witness rich and varied musical program. There are many funny surprises and prizes. For two days in August, one of the most beautiful parts of Bulgaria is animated with songs, dances and lots of entertainment.
