The Days of Music in Balabanova House take place twice a year – in May and October – in the beautiful Revival houses of Old Plovdiv. Concerts are held by widely renowned Bulgarian and foreign artists. Central role in the festivities plays the magnificent Balabanova House. Its architecture and aesthetic interior – traditional wood-carved ceilings, spacious saloons, charming old-time furniture, decorations in Baroque style, original works of Bulgarian masters – are all part of the atmosphere along with perfect acoustics. The festival is a rebirth of the old tradition of "home concerts", organized in the end of the past century from the wealthy owners of the rich houses. There famous musicians performed in cosy background, often accompanied by the family of the host.

     An addition to the musical program are many exhibitions of contemporary artists. All this focuses the attention of the visitors of Plovdiv to the cultural and historical monuments and the magnetic atmosphere of the Old City.
