Exhibition: Boyana Church is one of the fully preserved Mediaeval monuments on our lands. It has three building stages: the first stage is from the end of the 10th until the beginning of the 11th century, the second one – the middle of the 13th century, and the third one - the 19th century. The church was painted by an unknown Boyana master in 1259. They have extremely high artistic qualities, with great contribution to the European culture. The Bulgarian Tsar Konstantin Asen (1257-1277) and Queen Irina as well as a nobleman, Kaloyan, and his wife, Desislava, are portrayed on the northern wall of the church. The church contains 240 images, which reflect the extraordinary achievements of the Bulgarian Medieval culture.
